Poker Run Mountain Biking Trail

Poker Run Mountain Biking Trail

Trail Report for July 21, 2013

Location: Capital Forest, Olympia, WA

Facts:
  • 10 mile loop trail beginning at Fall Creek Parking Lot.
  • 5 miles of gradual climb
  • 5 miles of rolling descent, berm turns, and jumps
Landscape and Views: Forest and Clear cut.  I saw great views of Mount Rainier, Mount Adams and Mount St. Helens.  There were lots of ripe red huckleberries and wildflowers.

Comments:
There's a really cool technical section about a mile and a half from the start of the 5 miles descent.  It also has lots of fun little drop-offs and roots to bump over.

Trail Quality:
The trail is in pretty good condition.  Trail junctions are well signed. There was only one muddy section.

Fun Rating: Really Fun!  I would bike it again! **** 4 stars out of 5

  2. Nice trail report, Sage! That's good info because Capitol Forest is one of the few areas in WA that you can ride in the winter. Next time maybe you could post a few pics as well?
